If you can't beat them...

Severn Bridge

A leisurely start as the journey from great Haywood to our site just outside Bristol wasn't going to take very long, according to the sat nav.  It didn't of course know how long we would linger over lunch or that we would decide to have a second break on the way down.  So it was mid afternoon by the time we managed to negotiate our way round the various closed roads on our way to the site.

Another very pleasant 1½ acre level grass site with some hard standings.  The site including us had reached its maximum permitted number of 5 vans/motorhomes.  That is the rule for the caravan & Motorhome club.  The club has the legal right to give permission for these "certified locations" but they can only hold up to 5 members at at time.

Clickychick had never seen the Severn Bridges, so after getting the van set up we headed for the coast.  Eventually we found a good view point along the strangely named "Old Passage".  I would have worried about being there during a high tide, particularly if the wind was blowing up the channel.  The flotsam and jetsam behind the hedge suggested the water comes up over the few hundred yards of turf and reaches the hedge if not the road.
