Cordoba

After leaving Seville we spent time in Cordoba which we really liked . It would have been good to have spent longer there .We had a tour of the stunning Mezquita . Then we viewed the little alleyways of the Jewish quarter along with the pretty Callejon de la Flores with its blue pots of geraniums on every wall .
Later we arrived in Granada after passing acres and acres of olive trees in rows like soldiers standing to attention .
We did stop at a family run olive oil producer who provided refreshments by an old railway line which is now a green cycle track .
Granada was much bigger than I expected but stood beautifully against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains . Our hotel was hear the Alhambra at the top of the hill above the city . We caught a small bus which does a circuit of the city for a nominal amount and hung on for dear life as we careered down narrow streets . We found a delicious pizza in a pavement restaurant. The only thing which marred the experience was the number of beggars - it’s heart rending . We passed the cave dwellings where some of the gypsy population  still live and hold flamenco sessions .
