What Cheek!

Dear Diary,

My mum plant on the front porch is attracting all sorts of insects.  Here is a Slender Meadow Katydid.  I haven't seen one of those in a while.  Of course I had to stop and chat, which was fine for a time but then it looked up at me, walked away and stuck his head in a hole!  I guess that is katydid-speak for "enough already"!  What cheek!  I checked on him on and off for quite some time and there he still was, head down.  I get the point!  Katydid's are not, apparently, very chatty creatures.  The grasshoppers, on the other hand, will sit and chat for as long as I want and they even let me stroke their back.  So much more social than Katydids!
