Dangerous Radicals (Sils158)

Kineton Art group have their autumn exhibition over this weekend and I went along to see Gill's paintings on display and also to see how the art group arrange the display boards.  So this blip is really a record shot for the next time the camera club borrow the boards.

Gill is at the bottom of the steps, talking to Alison (grey top) and Belinda (zig zag jumper).  Alison may not look it, and with her soft Islay accent not sound it, but she is a dangerous radical.  The art group can be a little conservative (small c) so when she suggested that art works involving fabrics and (shock horror) mixed media ought to be included in the exhibition, some members had to be convinced this was a good idea.  The notion of anything not involving water colours on paper or oils on canvas  was just a touch too modern for some :-)  Gill and Belinda taught in the same school - harbouring very strange ideas about the children enjoying learning and that education should not only be about SATs tests!   Very Silly Saturday.

One of Alison's other ideas is a joint exhibition with the camera club - that might need the defibrillator kept handy.  Best not tell anyone that several of Gill's art works started off as a photograph  :-)

In other news - I cleaned the car - with my new gadget/toy snow foam canon - not very exciting.
Gill sold a painting -  some welcome good news - dodgy mobile shot in the extra.  She does have a high quality scan of this one so prints are a possibility.
