Winsome at One

It was this little madam's first birthday party today, here she is at about 9pm, beyond exhausted, but still very sweet. She's my friend, Delfina's first granddaughter and lives in the Azores, so very special she could be here for her first birthday. Loads of family and friends, and as ever, loads of food, including one guy, a cousin once removed, who basically spent the whole time carving an Iberian ham in paper thin slices. I had a go, it's not easy!

The Team came along as well. Also took them to the market, to the Adega, and to Mass with the new Padre, who was very enthusiastic again.

Gratefuls:
- the energy to cope with what felt like a very long day, with little sleep and lots of coughing
- fresh bedding, and sunshine to dry it all
- feeling a part of this town, with friends everywhere we go

Quote for the day, from the Jerusalem Talmud:
Every person must render an account before God of all the good things he beheld in life and did not enjoy.
A lot I'll have to render, but grateful for Blip, which has made it a lot less than it would have been!
