Garden Club Fundraiser

We held another successful Antiques Appraisal event today. It was just as much fun as the one we held last April and added some cash to our club treasury.

I had the Garwood's Lavender Smelling Salts Bottle appraised for the fun of it. My grandmother Nora graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias, Maine in 1911. Her graduating class had a trip to Washington D.C.  via steamship and railroad travel. It was a long trip and she must have been a bit nervous as she purchased this lovely bottle with a beautiful blue glass stopper filled with smelling salts at North Station in Boston. The appraiser said it's worth about $50 to a collector. I can't believe it's survived for so many years.

For the Record,
This day came in cool and rainy.

All hands happy.
