Castleberg

In Settle the small town where i work is a cliff called castleberg, there is a short walk up it and from there you have a fantastic view of settle.

SO i went to settle nice and early at about 8am, and went up castleberg with my DP-1 and tripod. i took a few shots but wasnt getting anything i particularly liked so when i reached the top of castleberg i hopped over a wall into the fields behind it and spotted a limestone formation (it has a technical name) on top of one of the hills.

I decided i wanted to shoot it as i have said in a previous blip i like taking photos of rocks and other textures.

This is the shot, i like the detail and texture in the rock and also like the dry stone wall in the background which is made out of lime stone. I think the image would have greatly been improved if it had a better sky, i used a graduated filter so it isnt blown out, its just that time of year when its grey and miserable and the sky is a giant softbox.
