A trip to Castle Douglas today for lunch with Joe. I met him at his work and we nipped over the road to Niko's the Greek restaurant. It was like being on holiday :-) Niko is from Crete and we had an interesting talk with him about how the island's culture and cuisine is influenced by the Middle East as well as Europe.

Joe's lunch hour went by too fast. We said goodbye and then I went for a wee wander in Threave Garden, where the autumn colours were at their best and the gardeners were busy tidying up the beds (as I should have been doing at home). Still a few red admirals flying around.
