End Of Season

I liked the spiky heads of these decaying wildflowers and how dark they are against the predominant light browns of the meadow in mid-autumn. Surprisingly there are still a few remaining green leaves adding some colour contrast, but mainly it's the rough textures of the foreground dead heads and the stalks, which are straight except for one, that attracted me.

I found editing quite difficult, I suppose because the contrast was quite flat and with no directional light to provide any variations. I decided to create depth by darkening the top and using a slight vignette to draw attention to the centre.
