The Light of Things

We stopped at Grasmere on our way home, to visit Dove Cottage, the one-time home of the poet William Wordsworth and his family.

'Come forth into the light of things, let Nature be your teacher'

I don't know if he wrote that while living there. Stepping out of the tiny, dark cottage into the beautiful light of the Lakes does force you to look up and look around.

Soon after, the clouds descended and rain set in. It followed us all the way home.  But we got a warm welcome from Douggie and Percy.
