Giovedi

Got up early to go and have a wander round the neighbourhood to finish off some film in the camera and then came back to the apartment to pick up the family, pack up my meagre luggage and head to the airport for the flight home...via the local cafe for breakfast..via the local takeout place for pizza slices for lunch..via the Lavazza vending machine for a 70c espresso on the Metro, etc, etc. And, of course, a final cappuccino at the airport itself.

Couple of nights of the holiday still to go, with a Premier Inn stay down in Brixton. Have to say that the Sainsburys Local next to the tube was busier than anywhere we'd been in Rome, must be a London thing. Shock to the system! The bar at the Ritzy was a bit quieter at least and us grown-ups retired there for a relaxing teatime pint. And planned the next Rome trip, naturally.

Holy Thursday
