Feed Me!

We were stacking some firewood on the front porch. The main pile is along the chain link fence at the side of the house, and every week or two we have to replenish the stuff that's right up by the front door. It always seems like such a daunting chore, but really only takes a few minutes. Afterwards I always feel so virtuous and prepared, especially right this minute when I am beginning to hear the splatter of rain on the skylight and the wind blowing the leaves around.

This tiny tiny seedling was growing out of the bark of one of the damper older logs. The leaves are barely a quarter inch across, and just look at those spikes, or hairs, or feelers. The entire plant is only about the size of one of my little finger joints. I will be keeping an eye on this life form--what could it be?
