A blackbird snaffling berries

Coming back from a hot summer climate to a cooler clime back home reminds me that autumn is very close. But there are visual benefits with the plundering of the hedgerow fruit harvests by birds.

I watched this blackbird come and go a few times and he seemed to watch me. I'm not sure what this type of berry is. It is from a tree our neighbour planted a few years, but this year its harvest has been exceptional. I may well have a few chances to watch other birds feeding there over the next few days.
