Another watery view

We visited the lovely city of Hereford today and the weather was kind again apart from a rather cool wind especially as we we were walking by the River and where we sat to have our picnic. We ended up with frozen extremities so quickly got on the move again and enjoyed poking round the quirky streets and a tour of the magnificent cathedral which was just starting it’s 3pm Harvest Festival service. Loved the view of the cathedral from our picnic spot.

The potato harvesters are very busy gathering in their vast crop from the fields by our caravan site and the huge tractors and machinery are back and forth relentlessly past Matilda and still working now at 8pm with an impressive array of futuristic looking headlights. Sarah, our lovely site owner is full of apologies for the disruption but says that harvesting has been delayed due to the wet weather we’ve all had of late. She’s even brought us slices of her homemade cake as a peace offering but as Mr T and I are both of rural stock ourselves we are not the least bit bothered but didn’t pass up on the cake!
