Pictures & Woodwork.

The chair nearing completion........

As you can see I have now cut the holes in the back rest of the chair which is now glued to the seat. The legs have also been glued in and now awaiting the finishing coats of hard wax oil.

I have, in fact, started to hard wax oil the seat and back rest only at the moment, the legs and underneath I will do later as this wax oil takes at least 8 hours to dry between coats. I will be applying 3 coats in all.
You may well see the difference in colour from the seat and the legs which are not yet treated.
The extra shows the grain in the wood.
Once I have applied all coats of wax oil, it will have a much deeper shine to it and will blip the finished product with a much better background.

We were going to an antiques fair in Newbury today, but because of the horrendous traffic congestion and road works, decided to stay at home and go to another fair in early November.
Other wise we have been at home slowly 'winterising' the garden and sweeping up loads of leaves falling from the trees we have in the garden.

I have been perusing your journals and there are some lovely shots in them.

Hope you are all well. Take care.
