Wound up in Wexford

Mahonia

We had a lovely mahonia in the garden in North Walsham (planted on the advice of my gardener at the time).  It added interest through the autumn and winter.

So when we moved in here, I wanted to plant another - but W didn't like it, because it was spiky - he doesn't like holly for the same reason.  Then we found a soft leaved mahonia, and planted it a couple of years ago.  It has been slow to get going, but this autumn has lots of flowers developing.

It will make a nice contrast to the nerine, which are just beside it.
