Roadside Kitsch

Out for a drive to enjoy the gorgeous weather today, we found ourselves passing through the strip malls of Saugus, not far from Boston.  Here you can see an impressive relic from 1961 in the form of a 68 foot tall neon sign shaped like a giant saguaro cactus, which used to mark the location of the Hilltop Steakhouse.  Since then, the site has been redeveloped as a combination apartment complex and retail shops, but they have retained, refurbished, and restored the big green beacon to shine on.  I must try to visit at night time when it's glowing in all its glory!
