Alloway Auld Kirk

This is the famed church in Robert Burns’ epic poem ‘Tam o’Shanter’.The Alloway Auld Kirk dates back to the 16th Century. It is  celebrated as the scene of the witches' dance in the poem and is situated in the parish where Robert Burns began his life. 
Extra: William Burns, the poet's  father and his mother Agnes Brown have a prominent gravestone in the kirkyard.
