Hawklords at Bannermans

Early morning to Glasgow with Angus. He’s sleepy and when we arrive it turns out that he’s left his wallet at the house. That’s going to be a pain.

The day is spent in Collabor8te, working with Matt. We make some progress - just not enough.

Then, to Portobello. Nick and I catch the bus to town, walk up the mile, down Blackfriars Street, and into Bannermans. SPG1 are just finishing their set. Dave furnishes us with some tickets and we’re ready for the Hawklords.

Nik Turner is looking very fragile. He must be close to eighty, and plays from a rickety chair for most of the gig. It’s Dead Fred on keyboards, but the rest of the band is unknown to me. They play until after 11, mainly space rock, although mostly not recognised by me. Highlights were Inferno, Psi Power, and Brainstorm to finish.

Back to Porty via the Newsroom. Em’s lights are on, so we decide to drop in. She decides otherwise and ignores us, so it’s John Street, toast, and bed.
