The Roman Temple of Evora

This temple is believed to have been constructed around the 1st century AD in honor of Augustus. If you look it up in Wikipedia you’ll find a fascinating history. To see it in person is quite awe inspiring...so ancient.

The temple is part of the historical center of the city and represents one of the most significant landmarks relating to the Roman and Lusitania civilizations of Evora and Portugal.

This lovely town in Portugal has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

We had a fabulous day today which also included a visit to the Montreal Branco winery in Estremoz.
