Zesting
Creaming
Mixing
Stirring
Into the oven for 3 hours, and hey presto.
Two Christmas cakes.
The small one is our “ tasting “ cake, which will be eaten in the next few weeks.
Recipe is a very old one. Readers Digest’s. Cookery Year. 1973.
Full of lots of fruit, almonds, spices, eggs, brown sugar butter, and brandy.

Also baked an apple pie, which we had for “ afters” tonight. A lovely juicy rump steak for “ befores”.

Now to watch Strictly.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for our walk from Helmsley to Rievaulx and back.
Today was 3C and rain most of the day.
