Brilliant Yellow

Of course the subject in this image had to be the yellow leaves. I'm not sure I did them justice with my capture and processing to bring out quite how brilliant they looked in reality. Caught in almost full sunlight, the issue was making the surrounding green leaves dark enough to create the necessary contrast, since they are also sunlit.

The fallen tree in the water made a nice lead in line and the reflections and sunlit patterns on the light green algae added interest to the foreground. The strong light created deep shadows and I had to brush in adjustments to bring back detail and avoid black holes in my image.
