Wisps Of Light

Even in the last throes these decaying flower heads still hold beauty in their grasp. I liked their delicate detail and light catching the white wispy hairs, set against a toffee coloured background.

The dark, out of focus stems add some visual interest to the surrounding area, increasing the impression of depth in the image. Although I was initially troubled by the top left corner being so dark, I think it serves to focus more attention on the main subject, rather like a natural vignette, helped by the flower heads being slightly right of centre.
