Pitt Island Shag .....

..... on Chatham Island/main island

We drove up to Point Munning this morning and really enjoyed our second visit there; more time and more relaxed.

The seals were all very busy, either fishing, playing or sleeping. This mother Shag and her baby were waiting for Dad to come back with fish. We waited too. And waited. But we ended up back at the vehicle having a picnic lunch in amongst the ewes & lambs.

A quick visit took us down to the remains of the missionary settlement, with its whaling pot & large whale skeleton head. Trees of all sorts of leanings took our fancy on the way back to Henga Lodge, with some of us going hunting for washed up sharks teeth in the lagoon.

A super day back on the main island, just us seven, enjoying our last day here. At least we think we’ll be leaving tomorrow, but flights in & out of the Chathams depend on the weather.
