Brewery Architecture

I have long wanted an excuse to stop at this pub and I was on a hunt for a horse sculpture in the pub garden so had an ideal excuse to stop.  The architecture is stunning for a pub in the Birmingham Suburbs on the main Bristol Road.

It was built in 1929 and opened on 1 December.  It was designed by Brands Goldbrough and is one of the largest and finest examples in the country of a "Brewer's Tudor" style public house.

The horse sculpture which we eventually found was made out of recycled car parts from the Rover Longbridge works just down the road.
