Tropical corner

Just setting off on a quiet drive to a quiet corner of North Uist when I got a text about some exotic form of Crossbills in Langass woods. Plans were swiftly changed and an hour spent wandering the paths in the pines there with absolutely no joy whatsoever.
We gave up and returned to our original plan and of course within an hour of our leaving, the birds were showing. Grrr.
At least some recompense was the colours up on North Uist of both the flowers here and the sea around.
