Halloween at The Fox

I don't like Halloween with it's Trick or Treat and shops filled with plastic paraphernalia.  When I was a child it was a very simple affair - I remember my grandad hollowing out a face from a swede and putting a candle inside. He called it a "turmit lantern" and I can still smell the burning swede when I think about it.

Having said that I've blipped the frontage of The Fox Inn in Oswestry as they've made such an effort. Last week I went for a meal there with friends and it is full of Halloween stuff on every surface and in every spare place!  The sculpture on top is of a fox and is there all the time, it was made by Jas Davidson - a local sculptor.
