ATOS Kills

Around 100 people - disabled people and their supporters - gathered outside the ATOS offices in Norwich today to protest about the way ATOS manages the assessments that they carry out on behalf of the UK Government to see whether or not someone is fit for work, and about the cuts that are being made to the welfare benefit system

The whole system is flawed and incredibly stressful.

Here we see one of the demonstrators standing beside a handful of short case studies outlining details of people who have died whilst going through the ATOS system.

Some of those people took their own lives.

The event was organised by the Norfolk Coalition of Disabled People and was I think the third one to date. The CEO of the Coalition told protesters that these demonstrations will be held every month for the foreseeable future and the next one is on the 15th February.

A full set of the photos that I took can be seen on my Facebook page.

And UK MPs are talking about giving themselves a 34% pay increase. They already earn £64,000 (plus expenses) ....... the heat you may be able to feel radiating from the computer screen is my blood boiling.
