The stone

Anybody who drives the road over the moor between Stornoway and Barvas will pass this huge white boulder. The story behind it is that when they were working on the road, in about 1850, the workmen came across this massive stone and couldn't move it. Along came Angus Graham, a strongman from my own village (Galson) who rolled the stone away for them. It is now painted white as a memorial, and I discovered today that there is now a brass plaque fixed to the stone telling this story,
