Publicans and Dinners!!!

Tonight was a night out with a good friend!! and a Thursday too...possibly one of the busiest ones to choose from the seven available!

The Irish Village....now there's a place to be seen. An authentic Irish Pub in the heart of modern Dubai. Guinness on draught and 'champ' for the ordering alongside all the other typical menu items making up luvverly..'pub grub' normally associated with these social hives!

We thought we were early arriving at 8pm....but alas...no...every seat was taken in the vast arena and so we had to retreat to the edges of the village and settle for a different International flavour in mini Italy....rissotto, lasagne and tirimasu!

The vibrancy was tangible as this area too soon filled to capacity, leaving standing room only. When the resident band started up to serenade folk through the evening...it seemed that most people were indeed, settled in for the night!

The village entrance is flanked by these empty barrels...(not all emptied tonight, you understand! They're just a feature).....and tables spread out under the trees, cooled by portable ac's in summer months and heated by portable gas heaters in winter. Amongst my pics, managed to get GK to snap me in my trendy hat...leaning on the dray!

Dray horses, or draught horses, still deliver barrels to local public houses in the market town of Devizes, a small part of the tourist attraction in the South West.

There are no dray horses here....just Arabian studs....and they don't pull wagons!

Good company, and a good night catching up with friends.

Happy Blipping Everyone!
