A view from Jeanneb

Enhanced view.

We’ve always had a good view of the trees up at the St Ives estate from our living room and bedroom at the front of the house but when I took this from the bedroom window this morning I realised that we could see even more now the Rowan tree has gone. Up early with Eda there was a cloud/mist hanging quite heavily over the trees as it got light but it continued to brighten and the mist started to disperse amongst them. I rushed upstairs to take this view as the skies started turning blue. The colours in the trees are looking great too at the minute.
So much better than the forecast this morning but in case it didn’t last Eda and I went up to Coppice Pond quite early to feed the swans and ducks. (The pond is hidden in this woodland.) She fed the swans first and then the ducks when we walked around the back of the pond. Lots of them were just sleeping, the usual post half term lethargy I think when they tend to get over fed!
Eda was keen to get to the cafe but it doesn’t open until 10.00 am. We timed it well for a coffee and she declared she wanted a sandwich. That was fine until two little boys came in and wanted ice creams. I’d eaten a good deal of the tuna sandwich and really didn’t want to start on ice cream but a very kind man (granddad?) with the two little boys got her one of the little wooden spoons and gave her two spoonfuls! I promised her some when she got home and she had three (small) scoops one after the other. After that she didn’t really need much lunch!.
Having her nap now  so having been up at 5.30am Granny grabbed a few zz’s too!
We’re so lucky to have this estate on our doorstep and we will definitely be taking her again when she next visits, though I do go every week.
(We will still be replacing the tree).
