Anne's Daily Encounters

Good Morning in Zagora

What I didn't know on arrival yesternight is that Zagora is the main village of the peninsula Pillion and thus sizy; stretched along the slopes and with this lovely village squaire with a platanos tree and chesnut trees and ofcourse the main church... there are so many many churches and chapels all over Greece!

I took my coffee here before hitting the road again and found myself amidst the local men; no tourist around here anymore as the Season is ended.
The men have their coffee, their paper (Ταχυδρομος = the Postman), their chat with fellows, a game of tavli (backgammon I think)... Just a relaxed start of the day for them & me.
