Jay with acorn...

The weather's turned much colder, but at the moment it seems to be stuck on eastern dismal grey, with no beautiful winter frost or sunlight! I took Rosie for a walk round Ferry Meadows, and even though the light was appalling, managed to get shots of a few birds, including a crow feasting on a freshly killed rabbit and this jay, demonstrating its skill at finding buried acorns. I think this may be a new addition to the BlipBigYear

This afternoon was our first chemistry session of the year, covering electrolysis. Chris has now finished his disseration, having pruned out the necessary number of wrds and references. He's back to Uni tomorrow to prepare for the harder part of his Masters year, which involves completing his research project - many hours of beetle identification ahead!

Still feeling tired, so I think I may try and have an early night...
