Squidgy Euan

40 days old
Euan's growth spurt continues and we are all shattered keeping him going.  The 'witching hour' is late afternoon and in to the evening when all our energy levels are low so there have been a couple of late night drives!

It's been a beautiful Fall day so Becky and I set out after breakfast to walk the neighbourhood and the very pretty cemetery at the end of the road.  It could be an arboretum with all the different trees.  There were two turtles/terrapins sunning themselves on the log on the lake as we walked around it and it will be a super place for toddler Euan to enjoy in times to come.  He went out in his carrier today and we could see immediately how much he has grown as his head has suddenly appeared at the top of it!

Back at home I set out to walk in to Salem to meet with Julie from the shop where I bought my witchery hat for Halloween.  However the shop was very busy so we exchanged contact details and I have promised to send postcards of Bradford when we are home.  From there I walked to the coffee shop and had a lovely chat with Elise who served me.  It turned out that she did her Masters Degree in Publishing at Stirling University so we talked about our favourite Scottish places whilst the coffee brewed.  Then it was time to return home to a quiet, lazy afternoon.

Tony's timber arrived today.  He is making some raised beds and  a compost bin for Becky so that she can plant vegetables next year.  Salem has a strong policy on recycling so the compost bin will come in very useful and provide extra nutrients for her vegetable beds.

Everything crossed for an easier end to the day!!
