Hair Ice

Hair ice, also known as ice wool or frost beard, is a type of ice that forms on dead wood and takes the shape of fine, silky hair.

A beautiful day so Lorna and I took Togbe up to New Lanark for a walk up to the Corra Linn waterfall, part of the Falls of Clyde.

I wasn't expecting to see any hair ice today but the temp had dropped below zero last night so there was a chance. There it was, what looked like a discarded paper tissue, when viewed through the zoom on the camera was some illusive hair ice. Some scrambling through branches and bracken but it was worth it.
