Legong dancer

We're now in Ubud, which is a bit of a shock to the system, being a tourist hub. We went to a dance performance this evening in the courtyard of the Ubud Palace. It is of course all done specially for us tourists, but is a fine spectacle.

Our hotel, Puri Saraswati Bunglalows, is, bizarrely, located within another Royal Palace. It's right on Main Road, but very quiet.

Although it is the high season for tourism here, it is relatively quiet everywhere. Prices are much, much higher here than in Java and, I'm told, other parts of South-East Asia, and it seems Bali may be pricing itself out of the tourist market.
