'Kangaroo Ground'

This was taken on Warrandyte - Kangaroo Ground Road, looking out towards the direction of yesterdays fire which was just over the back of this hill and heading away from this vantage point. This is about 4km from where we live, and you can see how bone dry everything is at the moment.

Just to the right of this shot on the same property there is evidence that some of their grass was burnt yesterday, possibly started from flying embers in the windy conditions and only about 40 metres from the house. A close call.

We looked at buying a property just down the road from here about a year ago, but there were so many planning restrictions and red tape (not to mention the price) that we decided that where we are now suits us just fine, we just need an extra room which would become our home office.

Went down to the Yarra River at Warrandyte to take some shots too. Might upload one or two to my blipfolio after dinner.
