Vanishing Point

A regular winter Saturday without the trip to town for coffee. I was refereeing in Greenwich this afternoon which meant I had to leave home at 12.30 to be there for 1.30 for a 2.30 kickoff.

My first Kent League game for a while. They must be short of referees to give an old fogey like me a match at this level! I was delighted by my ability to keep up and be in the right place most of the time to make crucial decisions. It was a close game to: 13-8 to the home side who remain unbeaten this season.

The day which started so brilliantly with sunshine once early fog had cleared degenerated during the afternoon to leave us a dank, wet afternoon on a muddy pitch in South East London.
