Epping Forest in Autumn colours

Today the sky was blue and the sun shone for my Sunday walk with Zeus09smum and Zeus.  Autumn has been slow to arrive this year and it will be brief as, no sooner had the leaves finally taken on those colours than they were being whipped from the trees by lashing rain and strong winds.  Today then was the window of opportunity, which I had to take, albeit with phone shots only.

Today is also Remembrance Sunday.  There is always controversy as to whether or not we should  continue with this:  are we merely glorifying war, being the argument against.
The Royal British Legion says this:
Remembrance does not glorify war and its symbol, the poppy, is a sign of both remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.
Freedom from Torture says this:
....In 2019, a record-high of 71 million people are displaced - many of whom by war. Truly remembering the victims of yesterday's wars means extending compassion and love to those affected by today's wars, too.
We arrived back at Zeus09smum's car at 10.59 am and so were able to respect the 2 minutes of silence together before setting out for home.
