Progress

5.2C grey and rainy, drying in early afternoon. Threat of rain showers.

I was at the Coop this morning so I did the same as last Saturday and walked the few extra yards to the High Street to see what was happening at the shops where the big fire was a week ago. The High Street has reopened for traffic and some work has started. There is scaffolding in place and some clearing work has been done. The green frontage of the grocers has been removed and the blue that ran the full length of the business has reappeared.

The shop further along the High Street that was the Pet Shop is being set up as temporary premises. Progress :-)

After lunch Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk. We walked down the road to the shore road, then along to the road bridge over the railway and down to the beach at Westhaven. The sea was very choppy and the tide was high again. I could see the waves running into the small dunes further along the shore towards Easthaven. The water was very grey and the breakers brown with suspended sand. Breezy at the beach.
