After the Battle

I have used entries in my grandmother’s album before and decided to dip in once again for this Remembrance Day.
 
This drawing of stretcher-bearers is undated but is sandwiched between two other illustrations both dated 1919. As the album sticks quite closely to chronological date order, I feel that it too was penned in 1919.
 

The aftermath of war quiet plainly stayed with the illustrator and I felt was suitable for today.
