Tequila Tours

We decided to spend two nights in Tequila so we could take a tour of one of the many distilleries in the area. We thought we would be on one of these buses, but it turned out the best tour according to what we read online was the one at the José Cuervo, a short walk from our hotel. It was indeed an awesome tour, very informative on the process of making tequila and concluded with a private tasting. We will not disparage Cuervo anymore. The only bad part was no farm visit (that is only available on the weekend). The Sauza factory, however, offered a garden tour that featured a demonstration by a Jimador on precisely how the piña of the blue agave is harvested. We had already learned what came after these massive piñas arrived at the plant, so we now know the steps from start to finish (and how to correctly taste the end product).
