If you can't beat them...

Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )

With the onset of the dark wet months I am running out of flowers to blip.  I have been busy all day with various jobs around home.  So I have resorted to shots of birds.

A popular garden bird which fortunately, unlike many species, isn't in decline.  With a body weight of about 10g (a little under half an ounce) it can be surprisingly long lived.  The record (proved by ringing) is 9 years and 8 days.  Blue Tits are found in over 90% of the Uk being missing only from the highest parts of mainland Scotland, the Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland.
