Weather chat

It started off humid and bright but descended into greyer drizzly weather, not typical for Maputo. The rain got heavier as I walked to a lunch meeting so I arrived looking like a wet rag. At least it was 30 degrees as opposed to drizzly 1 degree weather as reported by my friend Alison who works from home in the Peak District. I can always do without that damp-in-the-bones feeling.

One of my neighbours is suffering from a particularly violent strain of bubonic plague, from the sound of the hacking and coughing. Maybe the damp weather here has facilitated the spread of infectious diseases, like the UK’s version of winter flu.
