A Back Passage

This location is essential if you‘re a taxi driver doing the knowledge of Stromness.  It also allows SDB to recall the occasion when Kenneth Williams played The Khasi of Kalabar in the infamous Carry On film.  When he had travelled through the pass, on the back of an elephant, this obviously gave him the opportunity to announce that ‘It’s the first time I’ve taken an elephant up the Khyber.

I travelled down the Pass today with the Current Mrs. Creel as we went on a round of visiting from mid-day to 7.00 p.m.

Today is Pet Clarks’ 87th Birthday – I wonder if she received a Brompton?
