Agritechnica day 1

The first day in the Agritechnica 2019 fair. It's the largest fair of its field in the world, and the Hanover Fairground is the largest exhibition ground in the world.

The distance between our accommodation near Celle and the Hanover Fair was about 60 kilometres and without traffic jams it should last less than an hour. With the jams and a non-optimal choice of route, it lasted almost twice as long. Got there at 10 am and went through about a third of the exhibition halls by 5:30 pm. Our feet, legs and backs were quite exhausted.

In the main blip a plough. The big ploughs provide an opportunity for an "artistic" image in the otherwise not so artsy fair environment. Of course, some of the machines were really large, as the Claas Lexion combine in the extra #1. It also had front wheels replaced with tracks, which seems to be a trend now. Another trend are electric machines like the small JCB telescopic loader in extra #2.

In the last extra the fanciest sprayer ever seen, an unmanned machine which recognizes the weeds and sprays only them instead of the whole field. It was presented by John Deere and there seemed to be quite a buzz around it, but I'm not sure if it was a finished product or still in development. A couple of other manufacturers also had sprayers which spray their targets selectively.
