Heading East - Day 4!

Or... Autumn Leaves - Part 8!

Jesus Green, Cambridge

After changing our plans for the day numerous times, we headed off for Grantchester this morning. However, passing through Cambridge, the driver changed his mind, and we parked up on the outskirts of the city and took the riverside footpath, following the River Cam, to the centre of Cambridge. The footpath took us over Midsummer Common and past Jesus Green and all the different college boathouses. The river was alive with rowers!

Once in town, we browsed, and shopped at, the market, listened to the various choirs who were performing as part of “Christmas Lights Switch On Day”, and found a lovely little Sicilian cafe for a lunch of arancini and cannoli! Then it was back through town, past the punters, colleges, and innumerable bikes to the riverside footpath and home. As the day wore on, the skies got darker and darker, though thankfully it stayed dry.

If you’d like to join me on today’s 4 1/2 mile autumnal riverside walk, do take a look at my extras.

(Lots of extras again, so that I can include them in my blip yearbook. Thank you for your recent kind comments, stars and hearts. I’ll catch up with replies when back home.)
