On Humpty Backs

Exeter Road is the official name of this road but Humpty Backs is what everyone calls this section. It crosses marshland and these fields are probably the first to get flooded when there's a lot of rain. I'd guess that originally there was a series of bridge type structures to keep the road above the floods and so the road went up and down and was a favourite for dads to try and make their children sick. These days it's been gradually levelled and it's pretty flat until you get to the Teign Bridge which is still humpbacked.

As I passed along it this morning I noticed the lovely reflections of these trees in the rapidly draining field. Humpty Backs is quite narrow (and the walls are wavy) so I carried on through and walked back to this point.
