world toilet day

I blipped about World Toilet Day on 14th October this year and here it is! The day has arrived!

I'll celebrate by sharing with you a photo of our toilet and its twin in Zambia, courtesy of the charity Toilet Twinning. When you send them £60 they send you a photo of your twinned toilet, in a nice frame so you can hang it proudly in your smallest room, and feel thankful for your nice facilities every time you visit. The charity is having a "Big Push" today to twin as many toilets as possible before midnight. Go on...you know you want to!

If you are really interested, you can read here! about how our local village became the first Toilet Twinned Village in Scotland last year. (and if you watch ITV Border, some of the residents will be talking about why that happened later today).

And if you're really really interested, you might even want to get some Who Gives A Crap toilet paper. You will feel so much better knowing that no trees are chopped down to make it (I like the bamboo kind best) and that 50% of the profits go to building toilets where they are most needed.
