Sunset

A day of relaxing around Tofo and making arrangements for the rest of the trip we’re taking this week. A lot of time here is spent fending off persistent vendors of coconuts, cashew nuts and cowrie shell bracelets, but apart from that it’s highly pleasant and an interesting trip down memory lane for me. As the sun set we perched on one of the dunes at the end of the beach and enjoyed the ambience (and respite from cowrie shell bracelets).

I’ve seen an alarming number of social media posts indicating that people are starting to install Christmas trees. I thought with Boris Johnson, Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump, we’d seen enough ridiculousness for one year. However on the date of 18 November, this may take top prize.
